Terms & Conditions
1. Music book
Music books will be provided by your teacher. Pupils will be charged for music book, competition and examination fees at cost when necessary. It is highly suggested to bring a notebook to class that could assist your daily practice.
2. Payment
Pupils are required to pay a 50% deposit of the full price lesson when making a booking on a weekly or monthly basis. This 50% deposit will only be charged if pupil doesn't show up or cancel the lesson without 24 hours notice. Drive-in lesson will cost extra +$15 travel fee based on travel distance.
3. Late Arrival
Students are expected to arrive on time for each scheduled class.
We encourage our students and parents to plan and allocate sufficient time to ensure timely arrival. Any student who arrives late to a class will not be eligible for a make-up session or additional instruction to cover missed material. Exceptions to this policy may be granted in rare cases of extenuating circumstances, subject to the instructor's discretion and prior approval.
4. Cancellations
If a lesson is cancelled by tutor, it will be refunded or made up at a time to suit the pupil. Lessons cancelled notice or missed by pupils with less than 24 hours will not be refunded or rearranged except at discretion. Pupils who miss a lesson without 24 hours notification will be charged 50% of the full price. In a particular situation, such as personal illness, injury or emergency, rearrangement or refund is available when it is noticed at least 1 hour before the class.
5. Holidays
Student will be given notice in advance if teacher is unable to teach due to a holiday and will make up lessons or give a credit accordingly. If a student is not going to be available for lessons, please give at least a week’s notice.
6. Terminating lessons
Two weeks’ notice is normally required to discontinue lessons. Lessons already paid for may not be refunded without notice except special situation.
7. Practice
Mastering an instrument is as much about practising as musical talent. Students should practise regularly – preferably every day. Short, frequent practice is the most effective way to learn, especially for beginners.
Students must have access to a suitable instrument, which is properly maintained (i.e. tuned regularly) or a touch-sensitive electronic keyboard or digital piano with weighted keys, on which to practise. A metronome is required for practice in order to help student to play in time. A dedicated stool or chair, preferably adjustable, is also important.
Your teacher is more than happy to communicate and advise if you need help and recommendations for learning or buying an instrument.
